Diamond Disciplines Announced for 50th Edition of The Prefontaine Classic

The 14 Diamond Disciplines set to headline the 2025 Prefontaine Classic have been finalized by the meeting organizers and the Wanda Diamond League. The Pre Classic, a founding member of the Wanda Diamond League series since 2010, returns to Hayward Field at the University of Oregon on Saturday, July 5, 2025 for the 50th edition of the meet.

Fans can expect this year’s meet to include the following events, with additional world-class, non-Diamond Disciplines to be announced at a later date. 

Women’s Diamond Disciplines: 100 meters, 800 meters, 1500 meters, 5000 meters, 3000 meter steeplechase, Long Jump, Discus, Shot Put

Men’s Diamond Disciplines: 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, Bowerman Mile, 400 meter hurdles, Shot Put

The competitors in these 14 Diamond Disciplines will earn points in a bid to qualify for the two-day Wanda Diamond League Final, which will be held in Zurich on August 27-28, 2025.
