Today, on Steve Prefontaine’s birthday and in celebration of Pre Classic’s golden anniversary, the meet unveiled a new brand identity for this year’s historic event. It features:
The iconic Prefontaine Classic font, first utilized in the early years of the meet, prominently represented in the “Pre 50” logo. The forward slant of the font, similar to Prefontaine when he toed the start line, creates a sense of motion and represents the Pre Classic’s commitment to advancing and innovating the sport.
A commemorative Anniversary Gold color combined with the meet’s Relentless Black swatch to form the foundation of the palette for the Pre Classic’s golden edition.
The Nike Swoosh embedded in the 50th logo to celebrate the brand’s support and partnership in growing the meet since 1978.
The hashtag #Pre50 on social media, which fans and media members are encouraged to use when sharing historic content and memories related to the meet.
